Sarah Malmude is a versatile artist with a strong international background in visual and theatrical arts. She earned her BA in Art from the University of Southern Maine, supplementing her education with immersive training at the Art Academy of Latvia, where she studied painting under Latvian artist Arnolds Plaudis. She further honed her skills at renowned U.S. institutions, including the Pratt Institute and The Art Students League of New York. In 2007, Malmude's work gained significant recognition when over 20 of her paintings were selected for a special exhibition at the Latvian Embassy during the 19th NATO summit.
From the age of four, Sarah was encouraged by her family to nurture her artistic side. Spending time at her grandmother’s home in Maine, she discovered inspiration in the paintings of her late uncle, Joachim Probst, a noted artist whose work filled the house. Captivated by the energy in his art, and the joy that art brought her grandmother, Sarah began to develop her own bold and graphic style.
Expanding into other visual mediums, Sarah also built a career as a model, traveling extensively around the world and spending extended periods in Italy. Most recently, she collaborated in New York City with noted photographer Paul Tirado on a series of creative projects.
Beyond her passions for art, photography, and travel, Sarah is also an accomplished equestrian, recently spending time riding in California and Mexico.
